Rajshahi college student who set herself on fire dies at DMCH

The college student Liza who set herself on fire in front of the Teacher’s Training College (TTC) in Rajshahi town over a family dispute on Saturday died at DMCH on this morning (Wednesday).

Director Brig General AKM Nasir Uddin of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) confirmed the matter to media.

Liza Rahman, 18, daughter of Abdul Latif, of Gaibandha’s Gobindaganj upazila, and also wife of Shakhawat Hossain, 18, is a second year student at City College.

She was rescued and sent to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) for treatment. Doctors said she sustained 45% burns.

Later, Liza was referred to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
